I am currently serving Springfield students and teachers as the Coordinator of 21st Century Numeracy at Springfield Public Schools in Springfield, MO. I also teach undergraduates as an adjunct professor at Drury University. I recently became a Code.org facilitator. In years past, I have served as a K-5 Numeracy Coach, a Math Recovery Intervention Specialist, and a classroom teacher. I absolutely love what I do and feel very fortunate to get to work with such amazing teachers and students every day.
I have a B.S. in Elementary Education, an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and an M.S. in Educational Leadership from Missouri State University.
I have two boys, one in 5th grade and the other is a freshman in College studying to be a marine biologist. We have a dog named Isengard and a new puppy named Wicket (because yes we are that nerdy).
I love to paint, create (especially 3 Act math tasks), support teachers, and teach math. Finding new ways to engage students in mathematics through problem based learning, inquiry, and open tasks are passions of mine. Other things I love are tree hugging, advocating for clean oceans, sea turtles, science fiction and comics!
